The transportation system for the Hajj season 1444 AH

He pointed out that the transport and logistics system worked early on preparing the operational plan for the Hajj season 1444 AH, as for this year’s Hajj season, all road networks leading to the holy sites were surveyed and prepared, 6 airports were allocated to receive pilgrims, and about 1.7 million seats were provided by air carriers. Through more than 7,700 flights to transport the guests of Rahman, and the preparation of nearly 24,000 buses to facilitate the movement of the pilgrims, and raising the maximum capacity of the railways to 360,000 pilgrims, while increasing the number of daily trips on the Haramain train to 126 trips to serve more than 1.5 million pilgrims. and visitors, and equipping 17 trains to transport pilgrims to the holy sites.

This is in addition to preparing 9 stations on the Mashaer train in Arafat, Muzdalifah, and Mina, and raising the readiness of the Jeddah Islamic Port to receive and see off pilgrims, as well as providing many logistical services to serve the guests of Rahman and meet their needs. He added that the system launched a number of services, smart experiences and advanced technologies during the Hajj season this year to serve the pilgrims.

It included the launch of self-driving vehicles to transport pilgrims inside the holy sites, as well as drones to transport medical supplies inside the holy sites, and an experiment in cooling the asphalt surfaces of the roads in the holy sites, to reduce the temperature in order to provide comfort and tranquility to the pilgrims, in addition to providing 1,000 electric scooters to transport pilgrims who wish to move between Al-Mashaer, all the way to the Grand Mosque in Mecca, and the transport and logistics system worked to adopt 12 integrated plans at the highest levels to ensure the continuity of operational work in the holy sites, and to invest in the human cadres in the system to serve the pilgrims, whose number reached 40,000 participants.

And the Minister of Transport and Logistics indicated that the system’s plans were integrated with all relevant national authorities, as the process of the arrival of pilgrims through the land, sea and air ports took place smoothly, and the process of escalating the pilgrims from Mina to Arafat was completed in record time and before the specified time for that, and about 300,000 pilgrims were transported by the Holy Sites Train, and the rest of the pilgrims were transported by more than 20,000 buses. Al-Jasser concluded his speech, asking God – the Almighty – to return this occasion to everyone with goodness, right and blessings, and to preserve for this country its security and leadership and perpetuate the blessing of stability and prosperity for it.
